Great product, well made parts, and very easy to use. I do home remodeling for a living and do flooring very often, including installing LVP on stairs. This product has been a HUGE time saver, while helping me make tighter cuts so the planks fit tightly to the walls that are never straight. The adjustability is priceless. It's paid for itself 10x already. I'd highly recommend this to any professional flooring installer or even to any DIY'er who is planning to do their own stairs.

TANYO Stair Tread Template Tool, 8"–60"
$25.99 – $39.99
✓ Adjusts from 8" to 60"
A stair tread template tool in 4 mm aviation aluminium: open it to the gap between the skirt boards from 8 to 60 inches, set each end to the real angle of the wall, lock it, and transfer the exact shape to the tread.
Old walls are never square. Measure each tread separately and label the gauge reading on the board in pencil before you cut.

Built-ins in old housesHow the stair tread template tool works
The tool is an adjustable beam with a pivoting end on each side. Slide the ends out until they touch the walls or skirt boards, match each end to the wall angle, and lock the knobs. Lift it out, lay it on the tread blank, mark both ends and cut. Because the template records both angles and the full length at once, every step gets its own exact fit, even in old houses where no two walls are square.
Use it for each tread and riser in turn, and mark the step number on every board as you go. The same tool works for shelves between walls, window sills and built-in benches.

Very good and accurate tool. I liked the fact that they have the apex of the letter A pointing towards the back of the stair tread which helps with the orientation
SrividyA Sridhar · verified ownerI do a lot of DIY and put laminate on my stairs. Precision in measurement is key for a professional look. This stair tread template allowed for me to measure each stair set perfectly for a professional look without the professional price tag.
